It is with great sadness that O’Dwyers CLG has learned of the passing  of our much respected and esteemed Club President Denis ( Denny ) O’Leary RIP.

Denny was a much loved member of the community and of O’Dwyers CLG , he was a kind man who volunteered an immeasurable amount of his time to the club from his arrival from Wicklow to Balbriggan in 1961

He immediately got involved with the club representing the club in midfield vs St Josephs Boys

Denny had a strong love of GAA and history of the sport winning an O’Byrne cup with Wicklow and representing Bray Emmets. This love of GAA was passed onto his sons ; John and Denis , and indeed his daughter Geraldine.

In later years Denny was a driving force in providing cultural events to our club and community and held a number of roles within the club and was extremely active in driving the direction of the club for existing and future generations.

“No job is a thankless job within the club, just look at the benefits for the kids”

We will treasure the memories of Denny and be ever thankful for his contribution to our club and community
