Our minor footballers were back out on Bells this morning in a Championship Quarter Final vs St Anne's. The game was slightly delayed due to a delay with the ref, but once the game started it was played at a frenetic pace, the first half was cagey from both sides, it was a low scoring half albeit for a purple patch from St Anne's when they scored 1-1 in a matter of minutes just before half time. We went in at half time trailing 0-2 to 1-4
Second half was there to be won and with a slight wind in our favor... we started with real intent and pushed to get back level, during the second half the lads composure which was missing at times in the first half was back, playing some lovely through the hand football mixed with long direct attacking play
Our defense in the second half got meaner obviously disappointed with conceding the first half goal and kept St Anne's to two scores in the second half, this mean defense set up the platform for our midfield & forwards to attack St Anne's with real inten.t We out scored St Anne's in the second half 3-5 to 0-2, with score great scores from Cathal, Callum and Tristan netting a hat trick....
Final score
O'Dwyers 3-7 St Anne's 1-6
Congrats and well done lads... Another Semi final in two weeks time
