FitLine is Age & Opportunity’s volunteer telephone support line designed to help those over the age of 50 who want to feel a bit fitter and healthier, but perhaps don’t have the motivation, confidence or information on where or how to take that first step. The service is completely free.

We’re encouraging people to free phone 1800 303 545 and learn more. If you register for this free service, a FitLine mentor will arrange a time to ring you every two weeks to check in on your progress. FitLine mentors are volunteers who understand the challenges of getting active. They’ll give you information, advice and gentle encouragement to get moving, along with updates on what is happening in your local community. Along with this you will receive a free resource pack and DVD with 6 simple physical activity sessions for you to follow. FitLine mentors are able to offer guidance for each individual’s needs.

FitLine is a great opportunity to start the New Year with a bit more physical activity, especially when done together with the GAA’s ‘‘Ireland Lights Up’’ walking campaign in partnership with Operation Transformation starting this week. FitLine can offer extra support, motivation and guidance to help you achieve the recommended daily physical activity guidelines and ensure you stay on top of your health while joining something like “Ireland Lights Up” walking campaign.
