Hi folks,

Today we welcomed Round Towers Clondalkin down to O'Dwyers.

We had faced this team a number of weeks ago and knew we were in for a challenge today.

And test us they did.

We asked a lot from our lads today, to stand tall and play as a team we know they can be.

We started the game slow which is unlike us, but managed to go into the first water break 1-0 to 0-2 to us. We upped our game in the second quarter and went into half time 3-1 to 0-5 thanks to Julian's second peno of the game and a brilliant solo effort from our captain Sean Lawlor. We talked at half time to the lads about what it was going to take to win this game and they seen our points. We conceded a peno in the 3rd quarter leaving the score finely balanced going into the last quarter but Dillon helped us with a lovely point. We knew our lads were tired we could see the handling errors and missed passes coming into play but we asked them to push on and win this game for each other and they did not disappoint. For anyone who was on the sideline today could tell it was a tight close hard fought game with a electric atmosphere. With yes some errors from our lads but also with some questionable calls from the official. Noah popped up in the dying moments to give us that insurance point.

At the final whistle it ended 3-6 to 2-7 giving our lads a 2 point win at home on the day.

A special mention for Cathal our keeper who kept us in it in the closing moments with a super close range save. Our POTM today goes to John Sheridan who dug deep today and put in a massive shift and one to be proud off and Julian Kearney who kept that score board ticking over when we needed it most. Also to our subs who didn't get a run today but yer day will come we promise.

A massive thank you to all the friends and family who came down to support us today.

And of course a huge thank you to everyone who helped out on the sideline, set up nets and flags and clean up afterwards.

The feeling the lads had after the final whistle was well worth the huge effort they put in.

Well done today to everyone and keep the work rate up, effort up and ye will be rewarded.

Thanks Mentors.
