Return to play: Covid Officer Update

As we appear to be making progress against COVID generally within society, we should keep our guard up and not become complacent.

We need to continue too

  • Sanitise & adhere to social distancing
  • Ensure COVID forms are complete via ClubZap and attendance tracked
  • Parking at the club grounds is ONLY permitted for club coaches to collect or drop gear - Parking is reduced to allow access & prevent teams congregating unsafely in front of the club.

  • U16 Boys (Born 2005/6):

Mixed fortunes for our Mixed fortunes for our u16s Boys this week.On Tuesday night we visited St Catherines park for a Division 6 football match against Castleknock. Castleknock fielded a very strong team and O’Dwyers were on the back foot from the start. Some fine passages of play from O’Dwyers at times but it was not enough on the night. Casteknock with a convincing win. Credit to our young players they kept going until the final whistle, showing great character.16s Boys this week.On Tuesday night we visited St Catherines park for a Division 6 football match against Castleknock. On Saturday afternoon the hurlers made the long trip to Naomh Olaf’s. Coaches spoke to the players before the game about playing with confidence in their own ability. They did exactly that and we came home convincing winners.

  • U18 Boys (Born 2004/5): We had our 1st competitive football game this morning, following on from our false start on Wed evening. We travelled to Craobh Chiarains who we knew would be tough from our previous encounters. We started well in the 1st 5 mins getting a couple of good early scores but our 1st quarter hoo doo struck again and we shifted 2 early goals. We battled to get back into the game, but we were just a bit of the pace of the game this morning and never really kicked on from early good start. We eventually lost out in the end to a good Craobh Chiarain side. Back to basics for the lads and to get back to winning ways
  • Next up for the lads this week is Wed Hurling at home vs Craobh Chiarain and Sun away vs Erin's Isle
  • New players ( Born 2003 & 2004 )are very welcome, for further details on practice times and what you need to get started call, WhatsApp or SMS Robbie 086 8282753 or Dave 087 9702479

  • Adult Men’s Hurlers:

Our adult hurlers travelled to Oldtown to contest our Div10 league match with Wild Geese. Struggling for numbers due to the switch to Friday nights, we managed to field 13 players. Although we lost there were some fine performances from many O’Dwyers players. Danny, Mikey and Napohn keeping things tight in the back line. Sean Rogers playing with energy in an unfamiliar midfield position. Cian Bolger-Hayes showing his lockdown practice, scoring 4 out of the 5 frees he took.
We train on Friday nights from 6.30pm on Bells pitch. New players are very welcome, for further details on what you need to get started call, WhatsApp or SMS Paul on 087 2077181
