O'Dwyers U.14's Féile panel brought their Féile preparations to an end this evening. We traveled up the M1 to play St Finians of Swords in a challenge match on a wet soggy pitch which didn't help promote fine free flowing hurling.

However, the match started with Finians getting a couple of well-taken points before O'Dwyers sprung into life with a well-worked point of our own. St Finians continued to attack at every opportunity, while O'Dwyers defended with great heart and determination, getting some great hooks and blocks in to turn defence into attack. Down by 7 points at half time we managed to close the gap to 3 points in the second half before St Finians got a couple of late goals to pull away from us towards the end.

Although disappointed with the defeat we took a lot of positives from the match. We showed good hurling ability in midfield, took some fine scores, and made plenty of scoring opportunities in attack, while the defence was tight, solid and fearless.

We now look forward to Hurling Féile 2020 with great anticipation. Hopefully the lads out injured will make a speedy recovery in time to joined in the fun of Féile competition
