St Mary’s Saggart 4-7 – O’Dwyers U14 Girls Green 4-6
Cracking performance today from our U14 Girls Division 3 football team, who were just pipped by a point away to St Mary’s Saggart.
It was great to see so many of the girls back in action. It’s been a tough campaign with injuries, so having the group back together was a real positive. The girls were exceptional from goalkeeper right through the pitch, with some brilliant performances, great scoring and absolutely nothing left on the pitch.
It was also the first time this year that we’ve had both of our Dublin players on the pitch together. Sadie was outstanding at full back, while Bobbie was back in action and looked like she’d never been away.
Madison put in a strong performance at half back, and Scarlett scored a cracking goal in the second half.
A special mention too for Grace at wing forward. She was brilliant today and is having a fantastic season.
It was neck and neck throughout, with very little between the sides. Although we came out on the wrong side of a one-point result, there was plenty to be proud of.
This report is a summary of just some of the fantastic moments in today’s game. Whilst we can’t fit the abundance of standout performances we have seen this year into this small report, we want to recognise the importance of every single player. They have all been excellent all year and have pushed each other on week in week out. Thank you to you all for your hard work this year.
