A message from Coaching & Games
What do we want our players to hear when they look towards the sideline?
We’re at an important juncture for O’Dwyers. Across the club, our players, coaches and volunteers are putting in a huge amount of time and effort.
We all have a part to play in creating the right environment around our teams.
When our players look towards the sideline, we want them to hear:
Encouragement. Support. Positivity. Belief.
We want passion, noise and people getting behind O’Dwyers — but let’s make sure that passion is positive.
Our coaches also deserve our respect and support. Decisions won’t always be agreed with and games won’t always go our way, but our coaches are giving their time and energy to our players.
And this is something we can all take responsibility for. If we hear negativity from the sideline, let’s respectfully call it out and remind each other that we’re there to support our players and coaches.
The next time our teams take the field, let’s think about what our players hear when they look towards us.
Let’s make sure they hear support.
Let’s make sure they know we’re behind them.
