Great day on Sunday as our Junior ladies team won their championship 💚
Go Ahead Ireland Dublin LGFA Junior M Club Championship Final
O’Dwyers 4-08 – Na Gaeil Aeracha 2-07
Our Junior Ladies were crowned champions in a thrilling Junior M Club Championship Final at St Margarets GAA Club, overcoming a determined Na Gaeil Aeracha side in rain-soaked conditions.
The first half was evenly contested, with Ellen Guildea scoring a superb goal, before Na Gaeil Aeracha responded quickly with a goal of their own. Our ladies pulled ahead thanks to points from Niamh Orange, Leah Brady, and Erin McCormack, before a well-taken goal by Karen Kiernan. Just before the break, Karen rattled the cross bar, and the half ended, giving us a five-point lead at the break: 2-06 to 1-04.
Na Gaeil Aeracha came out strong after halftime, scoring a goal and a point to cut the lead to one. But a composed finish from Niamh Orange swung momentum back our way. Under intense pressure, our defence, led by Player of the Match Chloe Flynn and backed by key saves from Abbey McCurdy, held firm, keeping Na Gaeil Aeracha scoreless in the final ten minutes. A swift counterattack finished by Erin McCormack sealed the win, allowing captain Karen Kiernan to collect the trophy on the team’s behalf.
A huge thank you to all our supporters who cheered us on to victory and made the day a memorable occasion. Thank you also to team sponsors Moriarty’s SuperValu Balbriggan for their continued support💚
