General Club Updates

  • October was an amazing month for the club on the field. We had the O’Dwyers Senior ladies leading the charge winning a great final against Parnells and their Leinster odyssey exiting in the Semi-final after extra time. Our Adult hurlers also competed in the Dublin Hurling championship missing out against a strong St James Gael team in the final. Over the month of October we had teams competing in finals or Semi finals at all age groups which is a great testament to the work that is being done at underage.  We will have plenty to celebrate during our Annual award

  • Cultural activities are going from strength to strength thanks to our committed mentors with our Scór na nÓg team taking part in the county finals recently.  We are extremely proud of everyone who took part and as a result of their efforts we were awarded Dublin club of the year. We had winners in the Quiz section, Ballad Group and Recitation, who will now go on to represent Dublin at Leinster level. We wish them the very best of luck as they carry the club flag forward. If anyone would like to get involved in Scór,  get in touch.
  • Our monthly trad music session continues and we are looking forward to our big Christmas session on 1st December @12.30pm.  All are welcome to come along, even if it's just to listen.

This group has worked hard to ensure that the club have met their targets in encouraging the use of the Irish language and as a result,  we will be presented with the silver award from the GAA and Glór na nGael in Croke Park at the end of November. Many thanks to all club members who have taken part in activities during the year from ógs right up to our senior ladies team and adult members.

In an effort to improve on the scheme for future years, we ask those who had expressed an interest this year to complete a 1 minute survey which will be circulated by e-mail.
  • GAA quiz as Gaeilge: A senior quiz team of Eoghan Richardson,  Martin Valentine,  Joe Hughes and Aisling Gibbons represented the club at Leinster level in the GAA Irish Language quiz in Ballyboden this week. Finishing in joint 3rd overall, they completed 2 tie break rounds before being pipped to the post by 1 mark.  Great result!
