U13 girls had a super weekend of games💚
White Team:
O'Dwyers 1-09 (12)
Castleknock 4-03 (15)
Green Team:
O'Dwyers 5-04 (19)
Oliver Plunketts 2-10 (16)
New season. New ideas. New found enthusiasm and most importantly new players.
Both our teams took to the field today absolutely chomping at the bit for the action ahead.
Our White team, led by captain for the day Robyn played out a highly competitive and enjoyable game with Castleknock.
Every girl brought the hard work from training into their game and all of them contributed to a fantastic display.
O'Dwyers exchanged scores with Castleknock for most of the game only to miss out on victory at the death.
Based on this performance we'll have many, many more good days ahead.
Our skill of the day went to Elin for a fantastic near hand block early in the first half - perfectly timed, resulting in us gaining possession and securing a point at the opposite end.
Our Green team, led by Meadhbh, hosted Oliver Plunketts.
Both teams not allowing the windy conditions spoil a thoroughly entertaining sixty minutes of football.
O'Dwyers raced into a commanding early lead - wind assisted.
On the turnaround though Oliver Plunketts came back strong, kicking some wonderful points.
O'Dwyers showing great work ethic and determination dug deep late in the second half registering scores to keep Plunketts at bay and seeing out the game to claim victory
Our skill of the day went to Fakhriyah, who like Elin in the White team made a perfect block, well executed and resulting in us regaining possession to start another attack.
Well done to all the players involved today. At times the conditions made it difficult but everyone dug deep and put in sterling performances.
They should all be very proud of themselves ☘️
A special mention to Isabelle and Doireann who pulled the green jersey on for the first time, finally a big welcome back to Lilliana.
