*O'Dwyers Intermediate Men's Rd. 1 - Lucan Sarsfields*
We made the long awaited return to intermediate football on Sunday morning away to Lucan Sarsfield's with a draw (0.12 to 3.03). Given the recent weather, it was a game that was in doubt but the Lucan pitch was in excellent condition as the lads went into a 0.02 to 0.00 lead. Our play was a little slower and more ponderous than we have come to expect and when Lucan pounced for their first goal after a turnover and counter attack we realised this was going to be a close encounter. The lads continued to create lots of scoring opportunities however, with the shooting boots back in Bremore, we were in a real battle. The concession of 2 more counter attack goals was really concerning but true to the character of the group, the lads fired the last 3 points of the game, including the equaliser from debutant Callum Johnson with a pressure free from the edge of the D. A point on the road isn't a bad start and we move on the Rd. 2 against St. Finian's on Sunday week (details to follow).
Thanks to all the supporters who travelled to support the lads, it is greatly appreciated #O'DwyersAbu
