 We would like to wish all our members a Happy New Year.

As was discussed and requested during the AGM in November  we will be kicking off 2024 with a monthly Exec news letter to share club developments, updates and decisions which we hope to share on a monthly basis.

If you have any points, queries or topics which you would like raised with the Exec please email Secretary secretary.odwyers.dublin@gaa.ie in confidence and we will endeavor to respond to you as soon as possible. Alternatively reach out to a member of the Exec Committee and topics can be raised to the Exec meeting agenda for review.

As teams start planning for re-commencing after a very successful 2023 season there are a couple of key updates regarding topics in progress or closed over the last number of weeks which we would like to share.

Club membership for 2024 is now Live 

  • [New] Introductory membership for new players for the 2024 Season. The new membership sign ups during Dec - April (only) will receive a club half zip training top ( ZZ Sport ) as part of their membership, which can be collected via Club Shop. This membership is only available via Club Registrar ( Karen.) Please contact her or your team coach for more information.
  • [New] Family membership option will be extended to include playing adult membership with the Family pricing structure remaining the same.
  • All other membership prices will remain as is for the upcoming season. Our club membership has not changed in the last 2 years despite increased costs for the club.
  • Payment methods will remain the same with options for Once off payment and Recurring payment over a 9 month period.
  • Discounts will still apply for each subsequent member (with exception of OgDwyers Academy and 1st Year Introduction Memberships).
  • Membership registration must be in place for all players by 31st March. A non-registered player is not permitted to play or train after 31st March - unless an exception is granted via Club Registrar.
  • Membership entitles players to participate in the Player Injury fund (up to the value of €4,500). Only fully registered players can avail of this and injury reports must be submitted timely as per process on club website.
  • If there are any players on your team that have difficulties in paying the membership, please raise this with the Registrar team and the individual case will be reviewed in order to agree upon viable option for the individuals

General Club Updates

  • [New] Exec Role: Player Officer is open and any member interested in this role will be focussed on working with the C&G and Teams on player recruitment, retention and planning of key recruitment activities. If interested please contact  secretary.odwyers.dublin@gaa.ie. Recruitment activities are in planning for upcoming season for Juvenile teams.
  • [New] Strength & Conditioning Partnership for Minor & Adult team players for the 2024 Season will commence in April and be facilitated by an in-house S&C Trainer. All other agreements for any external S&C activities must be approved by club Exec prior to engaging with any providers.
  • [New] New online facilities system is in the process of set up which will allow us to offer both internal and external options to reserve or book club facilities.
  • [New] Sponsorship Updates. We have agreed some new sponsorship agreements for the 2024 Season and beyond 
    • SuperValu & Moriarty Group Sponsorship and partnership extension up to 2030 which will include the Ladies adult section and also club training tops for both Juvenile & Senior teams for a 2 year term ( discount funds are limited so discounts will be applied on a first come basis ).
    • Primtec have agreed to come onboard and sponsor our three Summer camps .
    • PTSB have agreed to a 1 year agreement to sponsor our Club bags for the 2024 season; further comms will be shared regarding the partnership  ( discount funds are limited so discounts will be applied on a first come basis ).
  • [New] We have been awarded two grants Fingal Youth Sports equipment along with As Daragh Did grant award.Both grants are allocated to OgDwyers and equipment and plans for delivery in planning.
  • [New] Club promotional material signs and tarpaulins are due for delivery early in Jan and tired or old signs will be replaced/removed during the month of Feb.
  • Assistant Player Coach roles are still open with a hope to close the process in the coming weeks 
  • New Development Transition planning - Transition planning group scheduled a workshop on 6th Jan to draw up the move and opening plan. External valuation of existing club assets completed and details under review.
  • New development Site tour took place on Sat 13th Jan between 10am - 2pm, - Feedback has been very positive and we will look to schedule a further site tour prior to scheduled opening of the club in March.

New Development Construction Update 

  • Target for end of March is still on track 
  • Plumbing 1st & 2nd completed and electrician 1st Fix and floor and painting downstairs in progress. Floor screed is scheduled to be in place in early Feb
  • Club function room interior designer engaged and in progress
  • Detailed design for new Gate & Road is with Fingal planning 
  • Valuer engaged to review existing club facilities and assets with a view to establishing resale of assets

Monthly Decisions 

  • C&G officer presented the 2024 Head Coach and coaching teams for ratification and approved by Exec
  • New Years Day Swim & Social Football raised €1,800 club to add €250 to the funds raised
  • Social event bookings for Existing club to be taken up until 31st March and only from 1st of June in new development. (This approach will be reviewed in line with readiness and will be communicated in advance).
