Job Title: Asst Coach ( Part Time )

Reporting to: C&G Officer

Location: On site in Schools as per schedule

Hours: Part time role 8hrs/week

Overall Job Purpose


This new role offers the opportunity to work alongside our club games promotion officer ( GPO ) within our catchment area schools in Balbriggan, Balscaddan and Balrothery. As an Assistant Coach you will be provided with a timetable for class and school activities to promote O’Dwyers GAA Club and recruit new players into the club. In order to be successful in this role, you must embrace the culture of the club and create a fun, inclusive approach with the school engagement and be comfortable working within a school environment.


This role is part time for 8 hrs per week aligned with the school year calendar ( circa 39 weeks )


Duties & Responsibilities


•Work alongside club GPO to deliver scheduled programme to schools as per timetable and schedule


•Create fun & dynamic sessions promoting GAA and O’Dwyers club


•Develop strong relationship with the school and key points of contact


•Support with general club communication into the school groups


•Propose strategies to develop club & School partnership


•Achieve target player recruitment targets as agreed with C&G officer


•Support the development of a Transition year programme with GPO


•Ensure equipment management avoid losses and damage to club equipment


•Ability to work one full day per week ( or more ) depending on schedule for full year cycle 39 weeks aligned to school calendar


Qualification & Experience:


-Previous coaching of underage teams ( preferable )

-Experience playing or coaching both hurling and football

-Good written & oral communication skills

-Good level of conversational Irish ( preferable )

-Good interpersonal skills and ability to work without supervision

-Excellent ability to lead, engage school sessions

-Successful candidates will be required to be Garda vetted by club & schools
