Adult Hurling match report 03/09/23
O'Dwyers travelled to Dolphin's Barn to play St Kevin's in the Junior G hurling championship. With both teams vying for 2nd place in the group we knew it was going to be a tough game.
O'Dwyers first half performance fell short of what this team are capable of. While the defence kept a clean sheet, thanks to excellent work from Adam in goal and Tadgh Rooney at no.3, St Kevin's punished us with accurate free-taking from anywhere inside the O'Dwyers half. At the other end of the pitch our forwards were struggling to get the scores that build up play promised.
Half time score was St Kevin's 0-6, O'Dwyers 0-10.
In the 2nd half O'Dwyers tidied up their tackling and improved up front. Padraic was accurate as always with his frees and an excellently taken goal from Tadgh Mooney created a favourable scoring gap for O'Dwyers.
Final score was, St Kevin's 0-12, O'Dwyers 1-17
O'Dwyers next game is at home against St Anne's on 17th September. With a chance to top the group the lads would love as much support as they can get.
